Avenida Villas is located on an 0.83-ac. redevelopment site, replacing an old medical office building. The design is a Craftsman Style Architecture and includes 29 apartments (35 dua) for formerly homeless persons or persons at risk of homelessness with mental health diagnoses.
An allocation of 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits was awarded in 2011. Additional funding is provided by the County of Orange and the State of California Mental Health Services Act.
The site is located near Magnolia High School in Anaheim, OCTA bus lines, Modjeska Park, a health clinic, pharmacy and market.
Construction is three levels of Type V with 36 surface parking spaces and will begin in late 2011. Amenities include a large 3,400 square foot community room with a computer lab, barbecue area, and a children’s playground.
