Hillcrest Court is the renovation of a dilapidated apartment in the high desert community. AMCAL was awarded an RFP for the rehabilitation of 67 market-rate units and conversion to affordable housing.
The site is located near a Victor Valley Transit Authority bus line and the High Desert Youth Center. Amenities include a pool and community room. New social services and educational classes will be provided to residents for the first time.
Federal funding is $6,670,000 via the Neighborhood Stabilization Program II, administered by the City of Victorville and County of San Bernardino. AMCAL will assume ownership of the community after completion.
Construction is two levels of Type V with surface parking. Construction will be completed in late 2011.
