Oceana replaces an old office and parking lot with 78 family apartments in a modern design along the revitalized Beach Boulevard in northern Huntington Beach.
An allocation of $19,450,000 in 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits was received in 2013. The City contributed $3,718,000 via HOME funds, City Fee Loan, and funding generated from the Inclusionary Housing requirement of a TriPointe Homes market-rate housing development.
The 2.2-ac. site is within the Beach and Edinger Corridors Specific Plan Area near an OCTA bus line, Terry Park, Courregos School, Huntington Beach Hospital, Central Library, market and retail locations.
Construction is three levels of Type V with 133 spaces of Type I at-grade garage parking. Amenities include a large community room on the street front with a computer lab, courtyard with barbecues, children’s playground and bicycle storage. Construction was completed in the Summer of 2015.
