Project Description

Mission Apartments is located north of downtown San Diego near the airport and replaces a parking lot adjacent to the historic Mission Brewery. The 1.5-ac. redevelopment site includes 85 family apartments (56 dua) with residences along Hancock Street as part of a modern urban exterior. Construction is 4 levels of Type V with 157 spaces.

The site is located next to a San Diego Trolley Station and near Presidio Park, Grant Elementary School, UCSD Medical Center, Mission Hills Library and a market. Amenities include a large community room with a computer lab, a courtyard with a barbecue area and children’s playground, and bicycle storage. Mission is certified as LEED Platinum and was honored with the Ruby Award for Project of the Year in San Diego and Best Re-use of Land by Multifamily Executive Magazine.

Financing includes a 4% tax credit allocation of $9,049,000 that was awarded in 2011. The San Diego RDA and Housing Commission provided funding of $12,000,000.
