Park Place is a keystone of the redevelopment of the Lynwood Gardens neighborhood on Atlantic Boulevard. The 4.3- ac. redevelopment site includes 99 family apartments (24 dua). The community has a contemporary exterior architecture and replaced a fire-damaged market and obsolete commercial building. A free-standing childcare building provides services for tenants and neighbors.
An allocation of $7,869,000 in 9% Low-Income Housing Tax Credits was awarded in 2011. The City awarded an RFP to AMCAL in 2009 and provided RDA and HOME funding.
The site is located near an MTA bus line, the new Burke-Ham Park, Mark Twain Elementary School, and a market. A childcare center will be available for tenants and neighbors.
The LEED Gold development includes two 3-level buildings and 209 surface parking spaces. Amenities include a large community clubhouse with a lounge, computer lab, pool, barbecue areas, and children’s playground. Free social services and educational classes will be provided for adults and children.
